GRSi earned the top spot as Government Contracting Company of the Year at the 2021 Industry Awards Celebration (IAC) held by Maryland Tech Council (MTC). At the conclusion of an exceptional first quarter, winning $231M in contract awards and establishing its 8th year of record performance, GRSi has formally announced the promotion of Mark Sullivan to Talent Acquisition Director. In this capacity, he will lead the company’s talent acquisition team and implement a strategic plan to ensure the team’s ability to keep up with GRSi’s 35%+ year-over-year growth.

Mark came to GRSi as a Talent Acquisition Subject Matter Expert, where in this role he delivered exceptional strategic and tactical value, leading to his promotion to Director. Mark brings more than 15 years of talent acquisition experience, including serving as the Director of Talent Acquisition at Fortune 100 companies.

GRSi also secured all of its major objectives for 2020: expanding the Cloud portfolio to include Cloud Access Point (CAP) management, Cloud Governance, and high-side Cloud engineering at Impact Level-5; increasing its digital sandbox capabilities; launching its mentor-protégé program for minority businesses, and more.

GRSi, providing state-of-the-art innovations and solutions across the Civilian, Defense, and Intel communities, as well as the commercial industry, was recently awarded a five-year contract to expand architecture, engineering, and support of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI’s) scientific mission, advanced infrastructure, multi-Cloud posture, DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines, enterprise operations and service management, and configuration management. Under this new scope of work, GRSi will manage and provide advanced enterprise operations services, including expanded areas of cybersecurity, scientific support, on-demand/dynamic infrastructure (IaaS, SaaS), high-performance computing, big data storage and analytics, and services to other NIH Institutes and external research organizations that utilize these forward-leaning solutions.

The NHLBI provides global leadership for research in the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases and has been especially engaged in research and treatment throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) has selected GRSi as the awardee of the C4I Afloat and Ashore Engineering Support Task Order. Under this task, GRSi will provide engineering support and technical services to NIWC Atlantic’s Surface Ship Integration (PMW 750/760), C4I Modernization & Readiness (FRD 100/200) and Command & Control & Afloat Applications (PMW 150) divisions. GRSi is excited to leverage our program management, engineering, logistics, and technical services knowledge to support C4I Afloat and Ashore installation and modernization projects

The Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) awarded GRSi with a new Navy Cyber IPT-Cyber Domain Support task via Seaport-O: Cyber Mission Engineering unrestricted competition.

GRSi, which brings highly robust cyber and systems engineering expertise, will provide systems engineering services in support of Fleet Cyber Command (FCC) and US Cyber Command within the cyber domain. GRSi will leverage its cyber engineering toolsets, GRSi-SandBoxes, and models, and its cyber center of excellence capabilities to provide stable yet transformative cyber domain services for Cloud Computing technologies, DIACAP/C&A/A&A/RMF(1-5) analysis and execution, as well as mitigation, transition, and planning support for cyber technologies.

Ricky will bring tremendous value to GRSi’s leadership team, driving the future positioning of the company strategically and tactically for staying on the leading edge of technology, partnering, and innovation insertion. In this role, Ricky will directly oversee civilian portfolio capture, corporate positioning, and leverage his vast intelligence and defense experience in support of GRSi’s defense and intel portfolios.

Mr. Garris brings professional experience that covers the range of senior engineering and technical solutioning for clients like NSA, NRO, DIA, SPAWAR/NIWC, NOAA, GSA, and many other state and commercial organizations, in addition to executive leadership with roles as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and leadership positions in capture with hundreds of millions in awards and highly successful performance. GRSi is excited to welcome Kevin Humphreys to the team as Director of Finance. In this role, Kevin will provide an increased focus on the organization’s financial needs resulting from the amazing growth the company has seen in recent years. Working under the direction of the Vice President of Accounting and Compliance, he will perform and manage a team responsible for pricing, financial reporting/analysis, and customer invoicing, among other tasks.

Before coming to GRSi, Kevin held positions as Division Finance Lead and Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for Dovel Technologies and CSRA/General Dynamics, respectively, where he led financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting teams. He also led the overhaul of planning and forecasting and analysis models in addition to driving monthly close and reporting cycles and corporate analysis as a member of the planning design team. Kevin holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Eckert College.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected GRSi to provide enterprise telecommunications support services for the technical and administrative management of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Enterprise Telecommunications System environment. Under this scope of work, GRSi will drive technical and administrative management of the enterprise telecommunications infrastructure to include analog, digital, Voice Over IP (VOIP), and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) communication, among others.

The team will also support FLETC’s telecommunication systems hardware and operating systems, telecommunication systems applications, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations for the FLETC enterprise telecommunication environment. These operations will be conducted from the FLETC location in Glynco, GA.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of the Director has chosen GRSi to help support development of innovations in its Executive Leadership onboarding. The team will assess and facilitate evolution of the onboarding process for senior leaders in the OD and carry that from basic orientation to more advanced and deep processing of roles and organizational structures of the OD that are impactful to the positions held by new leaders.

In addition, GRSi will provide active assimilation services by helping leaders understand the OD organizational culture and politics not only within the OD, but also with its relationship to NIH. This will include an accelerated executive integration process designed to quickly identify resources that bring leaders up to speed quickly through networking.

GRSi is excited to be a prime contract awardee supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Mission Information Technology Services (NMITS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), the team announced today.

NMITS is the acquisition framework for delivering the full scope of IT services and capabilities to support NOAA-wide solutions for Line Offices, Staff Offices, and Corporate Services Offices. The GRSi team will deliver scalable and reliable cross-cutting services to meet the demands of increasing volumes and types of information.

Continuing growth at GRSi has placed new importance and focus on the world-class services the team provides to their customers and because of that, Dietrich Affeldt has been named Director, Technical Solutions & Delivery. In this role, he will provide enterprise technical solutions across all GRSi portfolios and programs, enhancing the delivery of mission-critical support to our clients and their end users.

Prior to this role, Dietrich served on the GRSi Leadership Team as Technical Project Manager, supporting GRSi’s internal IT initiatives as well as enabling excellent service delivery across our client-facing programs. Additionally, he actively supported technical programs across GRSi’s Civilian portfolio and has helped to bridge the gaps across all GRSi portfolios to leverage expertise throughout the organization to better support our clients and their missions. In addition to being a Certified Scrum Master, Dietrich also holds certifications in ITIL and Project Management best practices, among others. Moving forward, he will utilize his skills in Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, and Enterprise IT Operations to provide best practices and solutions designed to help meet the mission needs of their customers.

The California Army National Guard (CAARNG) awarded GRSi with a new task order to provide records digitization as part of the ITES-3S IDIQ contract. Our team will perform records digitization and indexing from microfiche, film, and paper to avoid deterioration and loss of records. Digitizing the microfiche and film archive is critical to ensuring preservation of each record for service members and their families.

Operating within GRSi’s Defense Programs Division, this effort will utilize its offerings in defense, engineering, and technology services. The company will partner with TDEC, a HUBZone Small Business headquartered in Maryland that provides cost-effective solutions for labor-intensive functions, such as document management, administrative support, call center assistance, financial processing, and lockbox services.

Each year, the Maryland Tech Council Industry Awards Celebration honors the best in Maryland’s technology.

GRSi was awarded a new task supporting the Department of the Navy’s (DON) littoral combat ships (LCS) as part of the Seaport Next Generation (SeaPort NxG) IDIQ. Under this scope of work, the team will provide services that potentially span the entire spectrum of mission areas and technical capabilities supported by the DON ordering activities. The GRSi team will provide engineering and program management services in support of this critical and agile program of the DON across 23 functional area subcategories.

Recognized for exceptional teamwork and extraordinary efforts, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Director Dr. Gary Gibbons presented GRSi with three separate recognitions as part of the institute’s FY20 Group Awards. The team was honored for continued commitment to collaboration through challenging times and for dedication in support of several important projects. As part of the Infrastructure Services Branch (ISB) COVID-19 Response Team, GRSi employees implemented key IT system changes to support maximized telework policies due to the pandemic. This included the enablement of virtual desktop functionality for the remote workforce that reduced reliance on VPN. Second, GRSi employees in ISB were recognized for their MS Azure Incident Response and Recovery teamwork, which demonstrated outstanding support of the NHLBI mission. The group was recognized for its expertise shown throughout this important effort. Third, GRSi employees on the Service Desk received group recognition from three different federal teams within NHLBI for contributions to the Rockledge Move special project. The team was complimented for exceptional teamwork, extensive collaboration, and innovative thinking that were required to plan and execute the major facilities’ move.

GRSi has taken another step forward by naming Kelly Baldwin as Vice President of Defense Programs and General Manager of NIWC Operations. Having been with the company since 2015, Kelly had already been running one of the company’s largest programs while also leading the platform integration business unit. His customer knowledge, expertise, and personality make him a perfect fit for this dual role.

Kelly’s accomplishments and career highlights are numerous, including the management of large and complex programs that provided him with a deep understanding of the customers’ missions. He will continue to base his operations from the company’s Charleston, SC office and work with the team there to offer system hardening, information assurance, and PKI/CAC/PIV integrations among others.
